Speak your own language. Be understood in theirs.

You're matched with someone learning your language, so you each speak your own — and both of you see both, live, as it is spoken. Week by week the translation steps back, until the words are yours.

Your first session is free, up to 30 minutes. After that, every plan is conversations of up to 45 minutes: Starter is $29.99 a month for 2 conversations a week, Standard is $39.99 for 3, and Intensive is $59.99 for 5. Paying for the year saves up to 16%.

Or invite someone you want to talk to

TwinTalk, in a minute

Booking, the call, the games, your pod. With sound.

Why most language exchange never gets to talking.

  • You stay in text.

Messages are safe, so months go by and you never actually speak.

  • You freeze when it's time to speak.

The pressure to already be good is exactly what keeps you from getting good.

  • You're never sure who's real.

Borrowed photos, empty profiles, and people who aren't there to learn.

What happens

TwinTalk was built to remove all three.

  • You stay in text.Every session is a video call. There is no text-only mode to retreat into.
  • You freeze when it's time to speak. You speak your own language from minute one. Nobody has to be ready.
  • You're never sure who's real.Camera on, both sides, from the first second. Nothing to borrow, nowhere to hide.

How it works

  1. Pick your pair.

Tell us what you speak and what you're learning.

  2. Meet someone learning yours.

You're matched with a person who needs exactly what you already have.

    YouEnglish → 한국어
    Minji한국어 → English
  3. Talk, and watch the captions step back.

Speak your own language from minute one. The support fades as you improve.

Three ways to spend a conversation.

Before every session the two of you pick what it is for. One is a conversation with nothing on top of it, one is a question at a time, and one is a deck of nine games.

Either of you can change this mid-call, and nothing you have already done is lost.

Mode one

Just talk

No cards, no game. The two of you on a call.

Some evenings you already know what you want to say. This is the same call with nothing on top of it — live captions both ways, and nothing on screen asking you to do anything. It sits first in the menu, at the same weight as the rest, because choosing it is not opting out of something.

Mode two

Story

One question at a time, and the road the two of you are walking.

A card arrives with one question on it, written in both your languages. You answer, you hear theirs, and the next one comes. 8 subjects across 4 stages, and 6 formats on the last one — so the week you finally run out of small talk is the week the cards get more interesting.

See the whole road

Mode three

Play

Nine games, and not one of them is a vocabulary test.

This is the one that makes an hour go missing. You bluff about a subject you know nothing about, you argue about the right order of five things, you leave the screen to fetch something broken you never threw out. The language happens because you were busy doing something else — which is the only way it ever happens.

  • No rules screen. The first card teaches the game by being played.
  • Every card carries both languages, so either of you can read it out.
  • No score, no leaderboard, nothing kept. When a game ends the count goes with it — you are meant to become friends, not a ranking.

  1. A card is dealt, in both your languages.
  2. You guess out loud, and say why you think so.
  3. The card goes quiet, and they tell you the real answer.
  4. Then it turns over, and you swap.

The deck

Nine games, nine shapes. Every card below is the real one, at the size it is dealt.

Nothing is locked. You can go anywhere on the road, whenever you like — this is a map, not a syllabus.

The same conversation, on whatever you have open.

Desktop, laptop, tablet, phone. The layout is redrawn for each one rather than shrunk to fit — their face stays the largest thing on the screen at every size, because that is the half of a conversation a small window usually loses first.

Desktop

Two faces side by side and the card in a rail beside them, with room for both languages at once.

Nothing to install. It runs in the browser you already have, on the device already in your hand.

Start on a laptop, finish on a phone. The call follows you.

Real faces. You stay in control.

Camera on, both sides, from the first second. There's no profile photo to borrow and no empty account to hide behind.

  • Camera on, both sides.

Every call is face to face.

  • Block anyone, instantly.

They're gone from your calls the moment you tap it. You won't be matched with them again.

  • Report in one tap.

From the call, after it, or from their profile. A person at TwinTalk reads every report with the last five minutes of the call's captions and chat, and can warn, pause or close the account. They're never told who reported them.

What every plan includes

The plans differ in how often you talk. They do not differ in what you get when you do — there is no tier where a mode, a game, a language or a minute of the call is held back.
