Version 1.4 · an agreement between you and Abyssinia Homes LLC
Partner Program Terms
These terms govern the TwinTalk Partner Program: what you earn for recommending TwinTalk, when a commission becomes yours, when you are paid, how referrals are tracked, and what is not allowed. You earn 30% of what each referred customer pays — for a plan, TwinTalk Business, a Meeting Pass or extra meeting-hours — in their first 3 months and 15% in months 4 to 12, paid monthly. The same terms apply to creators who teach Korean, creators who teach English, and salespeople who bring companies to TwinTalk Business.

At a glance
30%, then 15%
Of what each customer pays for a plan or TwinTalk Business: 30% for months 1–3, 15% for months 4–12, nothing after. Yearly payments pay out monthly, never in one go. A Meeting Pass or extra hours earn the rate of the month they are bought in.
Paid by the 15th
Nothing is paid until 30 days after the payment: a commission is activated on the last day of the month in which that has passed (or its customer month starts, if later), and paid by the 15th of the next month. Minimum $50 or ₩70,000.
Your link and your code
A sign-up within 60 days of opening your link is yours, and a code typed at sign-up beats any link. Your audience gets a second free conversation.
Say it’s an ad
Every post with your link or code must say at the start that it is a paid partnership. Posts without the disclosure earn nothing.
The four statements above are a summary for convenience. They are not terms of this agreement, and where they differ from the numbered terms that follow, the numbered terms govern.
The Program and This Agreement
What the program is
The TwinTalk Partner Program (the “Program”) pays creators (each a “Partner”, “you”) a commission for recommending TwinTalk, the live, translated video conversation service operated by Abyssinia Homes LLC (“we”, “us”). A “Customer” is a person who opens a TwinTalk account through your link or with your code, as set out in Section 7, and then pays for a plan, for TwinTalk Business, for a Meeting Pass or for extra meeting-hours.
Accepting these terms
You accept these terms by ticking the box on the partner application in the TwinTalk app. We record the version you accepted and when. These terms sit beside the Terms and Conditions, which continue to govern your use of TwinTalk as a user, and the Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your personal information as a Partner.
Our relationship
You take part as an independent contractor. Nothing in these terms makes you our employee, agent or representative, and you may not make promises or statements on our behalf beyond the ones Section 8 allows.
Joining and Your Code
Applying
You apply in the TwinTalk app with a confirmed email address, at least one channel where you publish, and the country you live in. An application is either approved automatically or read by a person first — always while we review every application ourselves, and otherwise when, for example, a channel link cannot be opened or payouts cannot reach your country. We email you the decision. We may decline an application, and one person may hold one Partner account.
Your code
- You choose your code: 3 to 20 characters, letters A–Z, numbers, “_” and “-”. Capitals don’t matter, and codes that differ only by “_” or “-” are the same code.
- Words that could be taken for TwinTalk itself, words we need for our own pages, and offensive words are not available.
- You may change your code once, within 14 days of approval. Your old code keeps working as an alias of the new one.
- We may change a code that breaks Section 10, and will tell you when we do.
Keeping your details right
Keep your name, channels and country accurate. Payout and tax details are collected by our payouts provider before your first payout (Section 6); we do not store bank details ourselves.
What You Earn
The rate
For each Customer, you earn a share of what they pay for a plan, and of what they pay for TwinTalk Business, for their first 12 paid months of each. A plan and Business are counted separately, each from its own month 1 (a “Customer month”):
| Customer month | Your commission |
|---|---|
| Months 1–3 | 30% of that month’s value |
| Months 4–12 | 15% of that month’s value |
| Month 13 onward | Nothing |
A Meeting Pass or a block of extra meeting-hours earns once, at the rate of the month in which it is bought, counted from the Customer’s first payment for anything: 30% in their first 3 months, 15% in months 4–12, nothing after.
A Campus Exchange Semester Pass earns once, 15% of the price paid, if bought within the Customer’s first 12 months (from version 1.4; for a partner who accepted an earlier version, for passes paid from 2026-11-27). Seats a department buys never earn.
What a month or a purchase is worth
- Monthly plans and TwinTalk Business: the price the Customer paid for that month, excluding tax and after any discount.
- Yearly plans and TwinTalk Business, yearly: the yearly price, excluding tax and after any discount, divided by 12, for each month of service. A yearly Customer pays once, but you are paid monthly on the per-month amount, never a percentage of the whole year at once.
- A Meeting Pass or extra meeting-hours: the price paid, excluding tax and after any discount.
- Prices in Korean won include Korean value added tax; commission is calculated on the price without it.
- Commission is always calculated on what the Customer actually paid, in the currency they paid in.

When a Commission Becomes Yours
Activation
A commission is activated — becomes yours to be paid — on the last day of the calendar month in which both 30 days have passed since the payment for its Customer month and that Customer month has started, as long as:
- the payment for that Customer month has been received and has not been refunded or charged back; and
- the Customer month is within the first 12 of that plan or of TwinTalk Business, or the Meeting Pass or extra hours were bought within the Customer’s first 12 months.
Activated commissions appear on your statement on the 1st of the next month and are paid by the 15th.
Days and months in these terms are counted in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC): a Customer month that starts at 23:30 UTC on the 31st belongs to that month, wherever you or the Customer are.
An example
| Date | What happens | Your commission |
|---|---|---|
| 14 October | The Customer subscribes through your link and pays for month 1 | — |
| 14 November | The Customer is charged for month 2 | — |
| 30 November | Month 1 is activated (30 days after its payment passed on 13 November) | $12 |
| 15 December | Month 1 is paid to you | $12 |
| 31 December | Month 2 is activated | $12 |
| 14 January | Month 4 begins | The rate drops to 15% |
| 28 February | Month 4 is activated | $6 |
A yearly Customer works the same way: their single payment is split into 12 Customer months, and each activates at the end of the calendar month in which it starts — the first two only once 30 days have passed since the payment.
Refunds, Cancellations and Plan Changes
TwinTalk does not refund purchases (its Terms of Service, “No refunds”), so a paid month or purchase normally stays final. An activated commission is never taken back, except for a refund within the window in Section 5.2, a chargeback, or fraud (Section 5.4).
Plans and purchases
TwinTalk does not refund subscriptions or purchases. Every month a Customer paid for earns your commission, and commissions stop when the payments stop. For example, a Customer on Standard monthly who cancels after two months earns you 2 × $12.
Refunds the law or Link makes
A Customer may still get money back where the law requires it (for example, within 14 days in the EU and UK, or 7 days in Korea for something not yet used) or where Link, the seller of record, refunds under its own policy. Commissions therefore activate only after 14 days. A refunded payment earns no commission, and none of its Customer months that have not been activated will activate. If one already was, it is treated as a chargeback.
Plan changes, returning Customers and free conversations
- When a Customer changes plan, the commission follows the plan and billing they pay for in that Customer month. The month count does not restart.
- TwinTalk Business is counted separately from a plan: a Customer who has both earns you on each, each from its own month 1.
- A Customer who cancels and comes back continues the count from where it stopped, up to 12 paid months in all, if they return within 18 months of their first payment.
- Free conversations never earn commission, because nothing is paid.
Chargebacks and fraud
If a payment that earned a commission is charged back or found to be fraudulent, that commission is deducted from your next payouts. A negative balance is carried forward against future commissions; we do not invoice you for it.
Getting Paid
Statements and payouts
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Statement | On the 1st of each month: every commission activated the month before, by Customer (anonymised) and plan |
| Payout | Sent on the 6th of each month, to arrive by the 15th |
| Minimum | $50 for commissions earned in dollars and ₩70,000 for commissions earned in won, each on its own. A smaller balance rolls over to the next month |
| Methods | Through Rekomi, our payouts provider: a bank account through Stripe in the countries Stripe supports, a local bank deposit in many others, or PayPal (in Korea, PayPal). Rekomi shows the methods for your country when you set up |
| Currency | Commissions are earned in the currency the Customer paid in, US dollars or Korean won. Every payout is sent in US dollars: commissions earned in won are converted on their own line at the European Central Bank’s reference rate for the payout day (the newest published on or before it), shown on your payout |
| Fees | We pay Rekomi’s withdrawal fee, so the full amount of your payout reaches your payout account. Charges by your bank or PayPal for receiving or converting dollars are yours |
Setting up your payouts
You set up your payouts with Rekomi from your partner dashboard, with the email address of your TwinTalk account. Rekomi’s own terms apply to that account. If your setup is not finished by the 14th, that month’s payout rolls over to the next month; nothing is lost.
Payouts we check first
We may hold a payout to check it before it is sent — for example your first payout, or one that is much larger than usual. A payout held for a check is sent once it has been checked, and at the latest with the next month’s payout.
Tax
Rekomi (Uplup Inc.) pays you as payer of record. Before your first payout it collects your tax form — a W-9 in the US (through Stripe), a W-8BEN elsewhere — and it issues any US tax form for your earnings (such as a 1099-NEC) in its own name. TwinTalk never receives your tax form or your bank details. You are responsible for tax on your earnings where you live.
Your data
How we handle your information as a Partner — what Rekomi, Stripe and PayPal receive to pay you, and how long we keep payout records — is described in our Privacy Policy.
How Referrals Are Tracked
Your link
A visitor who opens your link and creates a TwinTalk account within 60 days is your Customer. The TwinTalk website does not store your code: it carries it in the address to the app, and the app remembers it on that device for 60 days. If a visitor opens links from several Partners, the last link opened before sign-up wins.
Your code
A person who types your code when they sign up is your Customer, whatever link they arrived through. A typed code wins over any link. Codes are entered at sign-up only; the box at checkout is for promotion codes.
New accounts only
Only a new TwinTalk account can be referred: one created in the last two weeks that has not used a free conversation, has no plan, and has not already been referred.
No self-referrals
Your own account, and accounts of people in your household, do not earn commission. We may treat an account as yours where it shares your email, payment card or device.
Our records
Attribution is decided by our records. You see your Customers anonymised — plan, month and status, never a name, an email address or anything that identifies them.
What Your Audience Gets
The offer
Anyone who signs up through your link or with your code gets one extra free conversation: 2 free conversations of up to 30 minutes each instead of the usual one.
Describing TwinTalk accurately
- Do say: “Your first two sessions are free, up to 30 minutes each.”
- Do say: “Every conversation is up to 45 minutes, with live translation both ways.”
- Don’t say TwinTalk is “free” without saying that the free part is two sessions.
- Don’t promise refunds: purchases are not refundable (Section 5.1).
- Don’t promise fluency by a date, or results TwinTalk does not state.
Disclosure Is Required
Say it is a paid partnership
Every post, video or story that includes your link or code must say clearly, at the start, that it is a paid partnership:
- United States: under the FTC’s rules, “#ad”, “Paid partnership with TwinTalk”, or the platform’s own paid-partnership label.
- Korea: under the Fair Trade Commission’s endorsement guidelines (추천·보증 심사지침), “유료광고” at the start of the title or post, or in the first lines of the caption — not hidden among hashtags or behind “more”.
Content without the disclosure does not earn commission.
What Is Not Allowed
Prohibited promotion
- Bidding on “TwinTalk” or any misspelling of it in search ads, or using it in ad copy or display URLs.
- Coupon and deal-aggregator sites, cashback sites, or incentivised sign-ups beyond the offer in Section 8.
- Spam: unsolicited email, direct messages, comments, or messages in groups you don’t run.
- Fake or paid reviews, or pretending to be an ordinary user.
- Using TwinTalk’s name or logo as your account name or domain, or implying you are TwinTalk.
- Content that is hateful or sexual, or that targets minors.
What happens if they are broken
Breaking these rules can lead to removal from the Program and the loss of commissions that have not been activated. Activated commissions from genuine referrals are still paid.
Larger Creators
A pilot fee
If you have 100,000 or more followers, we can agree a flat fee for one or two pilot posts on top of the standard commission. Write to us with your channel and audience details.
Changes and Ending
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms with 30 days’ notice by email. A change never reduces commissions already activated, and Customers you have already referred keep the terms that applied when they signed up.
Ending the partnership
Either of us may end the partnership with 30 days’ notice. Commissions activated before the end date are paid on the normal schedule; Customer months that start after it don’t earn commission. If the partnership ends because of fraud or a breach of Section 10, commissions that have not been paid may be withheld.
Language
These terms are published in English and Korean. If the two differ, the English text governs.
